Meet Devontae.......
New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
Devontae is highly dedicated to improving the lives and outcomes
for boys and men of color. He is a 2017-2018 MBK Sacramento Youth Fellow
and also co-authored the MBK Sacramento Policy Brief (June 2018) that explored
challenges commonly encountered by boys and men of color with a
focus on mental health. His leadership has been recognized through
the Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance as a critical
member of one of 19 National Impact Communities selected to
expand evidence-based initiatives to reduce youth violence, increase
mentorship programs, and measurably improve the lives of boys and
young of color. On November 2, 2020, Devontae founded Community House Activisim (CHA),
a Nonprofit Organization that's focused on using storytelling to advocate
for positive change in marginalized communities. CHA is currently working closely with schools & community-based organizations across Sacramento County to bring mentorship and education to low income areas. Together we can make it happen! – I Am
My Brother’s Keeper.
